How Many Sprays of Perfume Should You Use?
Knowing how many sprays to use can make a major difference in your fragrance experience. There is
no universal number because perfume strength, concentration, environment, and personal preference
all vary.
For a lighter fragrance, several moderate sprays may be appropriate. A highly concentrated perfume
may require much less. Pulse points such as the neck and wrists are common application areas.
Consider the environment before applying fragrance. In an office, classroom, airplane, or small room, a
lighter application is generally more considerate. For an outdoor event or large space, you may be able
to use slightly more.
Avoid spraying excessively just because you cannot smell the perfume after a while. Your nose can
become temporarily accustomed to a fragrance, a phenomenon known as olfactory fatigue.
Instead of constantly adding more perfume, give the fragrance time to develop.
The goal is not to make everyone notice your perfume from across the room—it is to create an
enjoyable scent around you.
